The 19th Girls’ Day took place on 28 March. Businesses and organisations invited schoolgirls from the 5th grade upwards to find out about professions in the manual trades, engineering, IT and sciences. Hensel Recycling was also involved again: in Obernau the girls obtained information first hand on the topic of precious metal recycling. Various stations, e.g. production, the laboratory, sales and precious metal trading were visited. The participants had the opportunity to talk to the staff from the industrial and commercial areas. The processes from sample receipt to sending the results of the analysis formed the focus during the Girls’ Day in the laboratory in Karlstein. The girls followed the individual analysis steps of the RFA and ICP methods with enthusiasm. Highlights were chemistry experiments during which the participants were able to get involved. At total of 12 girls were able to obtain valuable insights into our sector.
